May 7 – Moscow plans to annex east of Ukraine
using methods identical to those used in Crimea, said Victoria Nuland,
Assistant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
May 7 – Fighting
has taken place on the outskirts of Sloviansk. Officers implementing antiterrorist operation (ATO) prevented a group
of terrorists from escaping the city. Administrative buildings of Sloviansk
have been seized by separatists. A large quantity of explosives is being placed
inside those buildings. According to local residents, the separatists have been
saying that once security forces start their next attack, administrative
buildings will be blown up. Locals believe that this will be done in order to
then blame the explosions on Ukrainian authorities, similarly to events in
Abkhazia. Separatists have installed antitank guided missile systems “Fagot” at
Sloviansk checkpoints.
May 7 – Japan has compiled its list of 23 people
who are denied entry to the country because of the crisis in Ukraine, said Japanese
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
May 7 – Either a change in Kremlin’s viewpoint
occurred on May 7th or disinformation processes have been launched at the
highest level. After a meeting with OSCE chairman Didier Burkhalter, Putin has
called on the supporters of federalism in southeastern Ukraine to re-schedule a
referendum on self-determination previously planned for May 11th. Presidential
elections in Ukraine are a step in the right direction, but the citizens must
know in advance what is to be expected after the constitutional reform, said
Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also said that Russia has withdrawn its
troops from the border with Ukraine and they are currently stationed in the
location of regular military training. However, according to NATO estimates,
the number of Russian military at the border with Ukraine is about 40 thousand
people and they are supported by aircraft, artillery and tanks.

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!
By annexing Crimea, Russia has carried out an act
of aggression against Ukraine. Currently Russia is transferring terrorist and
sabotage groups to Eastern Ukraine. Russia aims to prevent legitimate
presidential elections from happening. Everyday life in Eastern Ukraine has
turned into a continuous nightmare in the middle of Europe. Our country is
being destroyed right before our eyes. We therefore take the courage to inform
you about current events in Ukraine. This is just another point of view. We
will do our best to remain objective.
P.S.: Please spread this appeal as much as possible.
