Russia has carried out an act of aggression towards Ukraine. Russian troops have entered Crimea. Thus we take it upon ourselves to inform you about the events in Ukraine. We will provide you with yet another viewpoint regarding this conflict. We will do our best to remain fair and objective.

April 13 – The city of Sloviansk was occupied by separatists yesterday. Several people have been killed and wounded as a result of anti-terrorist operation carried out there. Among those the killed and wounded are members of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine as well as separatists.

April 13 – Cities of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia have put up block posts in order to keep separatists out. There have been some clashes between the separatists and militia.

April 13 – Pro-Russian separatists are being paid 500 USD for their “work” during assaults on administrative buildings and 500 UAH for loitering near these premises.

April 13 – Rallies for the unity of Ukraine took place in Luhansk, Odesa, Zaporizhia and Kryvyi Rih.

April 13 – City Council buildings have been occupied in Kharkiv, Makiivka and Mariupol. Several people have been wounded. A “people’s Mayor” has been “elected” in Makiivka.

April 13 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is in possession of all the necessary evidence regarding the involvement of special services in the separatist revolt and occupation of state institutions in eastern Ukraine. “In the eastern regions of Ukraine, Russian special services and saboteurs began the transition to large-scale separatist operations aiming to seize power, destabilize the situation while threatening the lives of Ukrainian citizens, as well separate these regions from Ukraine”, official statement by the Foreign Ministry.

April 13 – April 13 – National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is launching a large-scale anti-terrorist operation involving Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov. “We will not allow Russia to repeat “Crimean scenario” in the eastern region of Ukraine”, said Turchynov. Blood was shed in the cities of eastern Ukraine today (in the city of Sloviansk, during anti-terrorist operation) and this has happened as a result of war organized by the Russian Federation against Ukraine... The aggressor hasn’t stopped and continues to organize unrest in the east of the country. This is not a war between Ukrainians. This is an artificially created confrontation, which is aiming to weaken and destroy Ukraine. But such confrontation also weakens our enemies. Russia is condemned by the all of the civilized world today”.
