friends! Russia
has carried out an act
of aggression towards Ukraine. Russian troops have entered Crimea.
Thus we take
it upon ourselves
to inform you about the
events in Ukraine. We will
provide you with yet another
viewpoint regarding this conflict. We will do
our best to remain fair
and objective. March
18 – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and self-proclaimed representatives of “Crimean authorities” have signed an
“agreement” on Crimea and Sevastopol
becoming a new constituency of Russian Federation. March
18 – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has stated that
Russia is obliged to “protect
interests of Russians” in Ukraine. March
18 – US President Barack Obama is calling
on his colleagues
from G-7 to hold a meeting with Ukraine during
Nuclear Security Summit in Hague
(the Netherlands) on March 24th. March
18 – Ukraine’s Prime-Minister Arseniy
Yatsenyuk stated that political conflict with Russian
Federation has transformed into a military confrontation. March
18 – During an assault on Ukrainian
military regiment in Simfereopol, one Ukrainian warrant
officer was killed and one
captain was heavily wounded. Ukraine’s Minister of Defense has
issued an order allowing armed forces to
use weapons. March
18 – Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People
doesn’t recognize an “agreement” on Crimea and
Sevastopol becoming a new constituency of Russian Federation. March
18 – Ukraine’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs
has summoned Russian charge d’affairs in Ukraine
Andrey Vorobiev and handing him
in the note
of protest regarding the recognition
of illegitimate Republic of Crimea
and the signing
of an Agreement
on the “Republic
