Distinguished award for the development of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation.

On Tuesday, March 19 Andrzej Rosinski, Counsellor of Republic of Poland in Lviv and Counsellor Zbignjev Misjak granted a distinguished award of Republic of Poland to the widower of Teodozij Starak, first Attorney for Ukraine in Poland. The similar award has been given only to two Ukrainian citizens, the second one being Dmytro Pavlychko after completion of his diplomatic service.

Andrzej Rosinski, outstanding public figure, historian, active participant of "Solidarnost" was also a good friend of Teodozij Starak. In October 1999 he and Zbignjev Misjak, on the behalf of founded by them organization "Poland-Ukraine", referred to the President of Poland Alexander Kwasnjevski with the request to grant T. Starak with an award Commander`s Cross "For Outstanding Performance".

The official award ceremony took place in the City Council in the presence of the City Mayor Vasyl Kujbida, Roman Lubkivskyy, Counsellor of the Republic of Poland in Lviv Kshyshtofa Savitskoho, Lyubov Starak and Myroslav Trokhymuk, Director of the Institute of Poland at Lviv National University.
