Chancellor of Germany intends to provide personal assistance for Ukraine on its way to Europe – Taras Voznyak

“No-one paid attention to Gerhard Schroder`s comment that he views Ukraine as an associate member of EU and intends to provide his personal assistance for Ukraine to join Europe”. – mentioned Taras Voznyak on December 10th at the press-conference in L`viv, chief-editor of the journal ‘Ji’, the participant of the ‘round table’ with Chancellor of Germany in Kyiv.
Taras Voznyak informed that for the meeting with Gerhard Schroder Yuliya Mostova, vice-chief-editor of newspaper “Mirror of Week”, journalist Mykola Veresen`, political scientist Mykhaylo Pohrebins`kyy and public figure Larysa Skoryk were also invited.
During the discussion with the General Chancellor of FRG the issues of centralization of power in Ukraine, freedom of speech and extension of EU to East have been touched upon. Taras Voznyak also added that Germany has already allotted the resources for technical equipment of the Ukrainian border service. “The modernization will be done in two stages: via equipping of the western Ukrainian border and providing aid in the equipment of the eastern border”, - mentioned Taras Voznyak.
